Opie - Daddy's Boy
Opie was a full time Daddy's Boy and quite possibly, our favorite monkey. We're truly sad to see him leave. Unfortunately, Opie went to an unscrupulous zoo owner and it is unlikely that we'll hear from him.
Born on May 11, 2001, Opie is a Vervet and is the half brother of Kevin, Jasmine, Alex, and Hazel. As a baby he liked to tear paper and he hated to go to bed. He even visited the beach and gained strength and courage during his time with us. He is eating solid foods (well, jellybeans, peanut-butter crackers, and raisins that he steals from the cereal boxes) and has free run of the house. He likes to give kisses and play with his little stuffed animals.
He loves to play! Fetch, hide and seek, and chase are all a part of Opie's go-go-go personality! Opie's only problem is that he wants to play and be on you constantly. He is a little small for his size and he sleeps more than any of our other babies.

The pictures below show Opie as he grew from just a few weeks old to the pictures that we took on his last day with us (Halloween). No monkey has liked to play with people as much as Opie and this is one monkey truly free of bad habits. Very affectionate, he likes to be involved in everything and is happy to go look around the house to find whatever he wants.
We sure had a lot of fun with Opie. We are glad we gave him a good start and thankful for our time with him.
