After an absence of a couple years it was back to the 24 Hours of Daytona supporting my friend Steve Marcus and the guys who drive for him in Grand-Am Cup. This year's event was an all-star experience with some 60 champions racing including Rusty Wallace, Scott Pruett, Danica Patrick, Casey Mears, Adrian Fernandez, Tony Stewart, Dan Wheldon, Eddie Cheever, Jimmy Vasser, David Donohue, Buddy Rice, Hurley Haywood, Scott Dixon, Wally Dallenbach, Paul Tracy, Christian Fittipaldi, Ron Fellows, Bobby Labonte, Kyle Petty, and more.
The Marcus Porsche ran fast, but ended up with a few problems common with brand
new cars. Still, no one was feeling sorry for Marcus and many are
expecting them to challenge for the championship this year.
For the NASCAR guys and Danica
Patrick it was basically mayhem. They were just being pulled at
constantly. Literally, it was someone tugging their sleeves almost
constantly. All of them handled it very well and were just as nice and
gracious as you could even imagine. Really impressive and a little
depressing how much they have to put up with. Ironically, the reigning
Playboy Playmate
Cassandra Lynn had to put up with less - and she was been oogled constantly.
