Fourth of July in Ophelia

Small town America doesn't get, well, any more small town than Ophelia, VA.  With a population of maybe a few hundred people and little more than an intersection of two lane roads, Ophelia is definitely rural.  So when our friend Twiggy Mumford from Richmond was going to get to ride in the parade with her mother, the grand marshal of the parade, we weren't going to miss it!

Or so we thought.  Turns out this place is really a long ways away from anything and since it is a two lane road, if you miss the start, the cars are stuck.  The parade is, at best, a few hundred yards long and features various cars, firetrucks, etc.  So we ended up missing Twiggy's ride by but we still caught up with her at the church for some barbeque and blue grass music.  Storms cancelled the firework (they said they had more than one, but we weren't convinced), but it was still great to see!
