We were in town for Vicky and Jeremey's wedding, but while they worried about last minute details, we had a fun time walking the streets of Cambridge and the incredible . The town and University are basically intertwined and it's a fun place to wander around the nearly 800 years of history just at the University (the town itself is much older having been likely founded by the Romans over 1,000 years ago). While there, we managed to hook up for some drinks and coversation with Burt Totaro and his girlfriend Diana. (Bert is the uncle to Calla and Magno and a professor of mathematics at the University so he was very helpful in explaining some of the things about the University and it's many Colleges.)

One fun tourist thing to do is 'punting'. These shallow-draft boats use poles to go along the river Cam and you can get guided tours or even 'punt' yourself. It's harder than it looks (as the numerous small collisions attest), but it still's relatively simple. One big advantage of punting is that it lets you see parts of the Colleges that would otherwise be off-limits.
