Race buddy Gary Cheney and I headed up to Lewiston, Maine for a little snowmobiling. On Saturday, the area was hit with 1-2 feet worth of snow. As the snow came down, we were the only guys out there and we were breaking trails and enjoying the backcountry. We were also getting the sleds stuck and wearing ourselves digging out. It was easily the hardest snowmobiling I have ever done and even Gary finally said this was ridiculous as the heavy snow made visibility terrible and added to the difficult. It was still a hell of a fun time!
Sunday was spectacular as Tatiana Cheney and Peter Walton came out to join us. With sunny skis and nice powder, we had a wonderful time on the trails and fields. Without a doubt, the conditions were perfect.
Gary and I stayed with George
Schott who graciously loaned me one of his sleds. Among other things,
George raises some spectacular horses at his Maine Events Morgans farm.
They were truly some of the most beautiful horses I had ever seen.
