The flat stone you see in the foreground is known as the Slaughter Stone. This picture is taken from the Heel Stone looking back into Stonehenge along “The Avenue”. This would have been the primary way that people came into Stonehenge when it was full operational. You can also really see the earth works in the foreground. This made up the original circle that goes all the way around.
