It was the usual deal - out on a business trip that ran long so I ended up spending the weekend out in New Mexico. That meant a little poking around, snowmobiling, etc. in one of my favorite states. You do end up forgetting just how poor parts of New Mexico are in comparison to the rest of the country. The local papers were talking about how the schools are the worst in the nation and the high unemployment rates in the rural parts of the state. But there is no mistaking the beauty of the land - New Mexico is a magical place!
