12 Hours of Summit Point

From now on we're just going to burn the money instead of converting it into race car money.

This time it was the 12 Hours of Summit Point that led to something like our 15th blown engine in the last year and half.  We had worked really hard to get the car ready and knew it was going to be a little tough with a new, unsorted car.  For Friday practice the eVisory Daytona Coupe was incredibly fast.  Some 8-9 seconds per lap faster than the others practicing.  (That kind of difference is unheard of in road racing.)  Marcus Motorsports and BDM Racing were on hand and had worked hard to get the car and strategy ready to run for 12 hours.  As the day went on we had a serious of minor problems.  By the time qualifying rolled around the car was overheating.  We ended up with just one lap - and that was from a standing start in pit lane.  We still managed to qualify 6th overall and only a few seconds behind the Porsches and other favorites.  But in the night practice the engine let go and we were done - without even starting the race.

If we burn the money directly at least we won't waste a lot of time and have high hopes.
