The final race of the 2008 season was decidedly mixed. With two races on Saturday, it was Harry picking up a critical third place in one of them to clinch second place in the ST-2 class for the season. But the racing resulted in more shoulder pain for Harry who announced at the end of the second race that he is retiring from racing. So he finished strong. Mike Morris, who has single-handedly kept us racing, also won his first championship after some agonizingly close tries the last two years.

Dan ended up with boring races with no meaningful competition as the Factory Five Challenge Series basically has died, meaning that Dan will spend the off season looking for some other car to race. Jim Rathbun, the great photographer from Euroimage.us who has been with us from the start, indicated that he wouldn't be at the events for next year. But the real tragedy was the loss of Cale Kastanak - a young instructor who had just set his personal best before a horrible accident on Sunday. Many of us had been congratulating him on Saturday on his driving skills.
The 2008 season certainly had some high points, but this weekend wasn't one of them.
