Speedtrial @ VIR

The weather called for it to be rainy and then cold at Danville's famed VIR track.  It was the sort of weekend where you really questioned how badly you wanted to be out playing with a bunch of students driving really fast.  Well, the first session was rain and and a bit cold.  But Paul Newman once said, 'If there's a heaven on earth, it's VIR'.   Sure enough, while the rest of the state was overcast and grey, the sun broke free and brought warmth and a fast dry track at VIR.

Speedtrial hosted the weekend.  This time we were running the full course:  more than 3 miles long and a straight that allowed my students to do 150MPH+

The pictures show overcast skies, but that was because I only had time for a few pictures.  I played instructor and did 'lead-follow' for two guys in street Cobras.  I had some really talented students and Speedtrial did a nice job running a full field.  Two Cobras did end up hurting their cars:  one really had a tough time and wasn't able to drive his car home.

The full course at VIR was a nice way to end the season with our Spec Cobra.  The car was blazingly fast over the weekend and I continued to do a better job of driving the car at it's limit.  The Factory Five drivers were there and I had a great time getting to play with them.  Terrific weekend and fantastic way to end the year!
