The NASA Pro-Racing series finished up the season with a final run at Summit Point.  The weather was perfect and we had a big group there to play!  Dan was designated to play instructor - riding around as a passenger at 120MPH with beginner students - while Harry was supposed to do most of the racing.

Harry's qualifying session resulted in some smoke coming from the front of the car.  The result?  Our 'repaired' radiator was broken!  Fortunately Harry and Gus Fullerborne were able to put the replacement radiator in the car.  Harry went back out for the first race and finished fourth - despite almost no track time.  Chris Cobetto suffered and in-car fire in his Cobra which caused serious damage.

Meanwhile Dan was out with his students, but took a quick break to get ready for the afternoon race.  A few laps in the Cobra and he was still building on the previous weekend's experience with the SCCA.  The race featured a new format:  the Cobras were bunched together (Factory Five was on hand to film the cars) resulting in a wacky start with the rest of the Big Bore field coming around the track at full speed during the Cobra start.  Dan moved up quickly, passing several people, and was gaining on the leaders when he ran too fast in to Turn 10 and spun the car.  He managed to get back on the track and was back running hard, but two laps later he came through Turn 10 and missed a gear.  That allowed another car to pull even with Dan on the straight:  a high speed run into the slow Turn 1.  Dan tried to late brake the car and ended up in the gravel pit - and out of the race.   Later he found out that he had run his fastest lap ever at Summit Point - and the second fastest lap of the weekend at just a fraction of a second slower than Bryan Dobyns, the 2001 series champion.

John Beazley was running his stunning Viper GTS and dominating the Advanced Students while Dave Lewis continued to improve his driving with his Spec Miata.

Saturday night brought out Bobbie with friend Rachel Kelly to serve as Trophy Girls.  NASA continues to improve their operations and had new series sponsors in the form of GE Financial Services.

Sunday was more of the same and highlighted by Harry's 44 mile enduro race where he finished second and set a new personal best lap time!   Steve Marcus turned it up and turned in a win as Bryan Dobyns sat the race out after having wrapped up the overall championship.

It was the end to a wonderful first year of racing with the eVisory Spec Cobra!
